South Africa coach Jacques Nienaber has explained his controversial decision to sub off starting fly half Manie Libbok after just 30 minutes of the Springboks’ comeback Rugby World Cup semi-final win over England PUBG
Libbok, who had emerged as South Africa’s first-choice No 10 in the lead-up to this tournament, was hooked after following a sliced clearance kick with a knock-on, capping a disastrous start to the game with England in the ascendancy PUBG
He was replaced by Handre Pollard, a key cog in the 2019 World Cup-winning Springboks side, and the veteran helped engineer a fightback before kicking the winning penalty on 77 minutes to secure a narrow 16-15 triumph and a spot in next Saturday’s final PUBG
Libbok is the more creative, dynamic fly half, while Pollard is the steadier option with a metronomic boot, and the move seemed to suggest South Africa were surrendering to England’s kick-heavy strategy and would attempt to beat them at their own game PUBG
In his post-match press conference, Nienaber laid out the reasons behind the decision and was adamant that Libbok would accept why it happened PUBG
“The beauty of this group is that we’re open and honest,” said Nienaber PUBG
“Because we have the right players, the players accept it PUBG

India star MS Dhoni has dropped a massive hint about his future in the Indian Premier League PUBG
The former Indian cricketer attended an event in Bengaluru on Thursday where he revealed that he was undergoing rehabilitation after knee surgery and should recover well in time for IPL 2024 PUBG
Dhoni has captained Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five IPL titles, the same as Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) PUBG
When CSK won the record-equalling fifth IPL title earlier this year, Dhoni had a lingering knee injury PUBG
Dhoni, who underwent the operation following a successful tournament, on Thursday disclosed that he was not experiencing any complications and was well on the road to full recovery PUBG
The doctors of the 42-year-old have also assured him that he would feel significantly PUBG better by November PUBG
“Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab patch, the doctor told me you would feel much PUBG better by November PUBG
But no problem in day-to-day routine,” said Dhoni PUBG
A video from Thursday’s event is circling on social media, where Dhoni is seen confirming that he has only retired from international cricket, indicating that his IPL career is very much in place PUBG
When an interviewer mentioned Dhoni’s retirement from cricket, another panellist swiftly specified that it was from international cricket PUBG
Dhoni, having a good laugh, immediately agreed with the correction, drawing loud applause from fans PUBG
This reaction may have put an end to speculations about the former India captain’s IPL future PUBG
In an interview after the IPL 2023 final, Dhoni had said he wanted to return to IPL next season as well because of the abundant love he received from his fans, irrespective of the ground the Men in Yellow had played in PUBG
“Circumstantially, it’s the best time to announce retirement PUBG
The easy thing for me is to say is thank you and retire PUBG
But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to (see me) play one more season,” Dhoni said at the Narendra Modi Stadium after CSK beat Gujarat Titans in May PUBG
The IPL 2024 auction is scheduled to take place on 19 December in Dubai, according to reports in Indian media PUBG
